The Family Nursery School is located in the First United Methodist Church's Educational wing. Our classrooms have been designed with young children in mind. We have big, bright sunny rooms with large windows. Our climbing room and the church social hall compliment our classroom space and support our large muscle activities program.

Pre-K Group: Class of 16 children 4 years old.
Class meets M, T, W, Th with the option of a Friday class as well.
Time: 9 - 11:30 am

Primary Groups: Classes of 12 children 3 years of age.
Class meets M, W, or T, Th.
Time: 9 - 11:30 am

NEW Toddler Group: classes of 7 children 2 years of age.
Class meets M, W, or T, TH, parents may choose 1 or more days
Time: 9 - 11:30 am

Family Nursery School's cooperative program schedules parents to assist the teacher on a rotating basis (usually about once a month). This shared experience gives you an active role in your child's education and a unique perspective on your child's development. Families are also welcome on our 3 fall and 3 spring field trips that extend our learning beyond the classroom.

Our staff includes New York State Certified Teachers. They have many years of experience in both early childhood and public school programs. Their training and experience as parents gives them valuable perspectives to bring to the classroom. They are dedicated to providing a secure and exciting first school experience.

The Family Nursery School curriculum provides a healthy mixture of social development and academic opportunities. Learning takes place through informal play and structured learning times. Our students learn to accept limits and grow in self-reliance. They learn the tools of conflict resolution and decision-making. They explore the world around them through stories and activities that broaden understanding.
Our Spring Conference program gives parents and teachers an opportunity to evaluate the child's year and consider options for the next growth opportunity.
